Governance
 
 
 
The Gabriella Charter School is a dancethemed independent public elementary school which was founded in 2005 by the Gabriella Axelrad Education Foundation. The school is linked financially, philosophically and administratively to the Foundation.
  
The decisions of the School Governance Committee are subject to review by the Gabriella Axelrad Education Foundation’s Board, but authority over curriculum and instructional matters is delegated by the Board to the School Governance Committee.  The Gabriella Charter School complies with all laws relating to public agencies in general, and all federal laws and regulations and state codes as they pertain to charter schools.
 
GCS allows an LAUSD representative to serve as a nonvoting member of the School Governance Committee.  The purpose of an LAUSD representative is to facilitate communication and mutual understanding between GCS and LAUSD.
