The Gabriella Charter School is governed by a School Governance Committee composed of the following members:

Liza F. Bercovici, Esq., Executive Director, Gabriella Axelrad Education Foundation (GAEF)


James DeWitt, GAEF Board Member, Owner & Chief Executive, Marshall Tool & Supply Co.

The decisions of the School Governance Committee are subject to review by the Gabriella Axelrad Education Foundation’s board, but authority over curriculum and instructional matters is delegated by the board to the School Governance Committee.  The Gabriella Charter School complies with all laws relating to public agencies in general, and all federal laws and regulations and state codes as they pertain to charter schools.

GCS allows an LAUSD representative to serve as a non−voting member of the School Governance Committee.  The purpose of an LAUSD representative is to facilitate communication and mutual understanding between GCS and LAUSD.
