Awards and Recognition

Despite the fact that 91% of the school’s K-8 students fall below the federal poverty guidelines, GCS’ test scores each year have exceeded the State’s 800 API target (875 API in 2011), making Gabriella one of Los Angeles’ top-performing schools.

GCS has won the Siart Foundation’s Charter School Excellence Award (2007 & 2008), the Insight Innovation Award (2008), the Title I Academic Achievement Award (2010), the Music Center Bravo Program Award (2011) and the Hart Vision Award for Charter School of the Year (2012).

The School has been awarded a full, six-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
